My mums great grandfather and his brother migrated from Ireland to Australia in around the 1870s as mounted police to join superintendent Hares gang to help capture Ned Kelly.

Mums grandma migrated from south ireland to start a better life here in Australia, and her grandfather was born in Maryborough Austalia. His family were from Cornwall, England.

My dad’s family came from Ireland because of the great potatoe famin between 1845  and 1852.

Gayip
gayip stands on a rock and watches over travelers passing by. at night it rises into te sky’s an watches over his territory to ensure of well-being. it has seen darkend times and other times it clear and warm.

First settler
He came into the country with a flag and a shovel. once he placed his flag the colours began to fade away into the sun. but it gave him nice shade and indicated the wind. so he continued to work and dig.

Melbourne beauty
she was a rare beauty that if you mention her name it could cause a stampede. she usually hung around the yarra river.

tucker bag man
he would search around the land looking for new things to place in his bag.

Shelter
it’s is made of bits and prices of old home. to shelter people who come by.

Urban Wheel
he made two story houses, an he can climbs up different angles.

Running couple
they came from a village far away from each other ,they run together chasing the wind and sun.

butterfly girl
she collects butterfly’s but she never keeps them for longer then a day.

walking sun
he brings different stories to differnt culture to come together.

I learnt about The different time lines in history ad what are the most important parts that make  everyone’s family speacil ad differnt from the next. I learnt that aboriginals were here 50,000 to 70,000 years ago. not including aboriginals in the gold rush times is trails reach a population of 1000000 in 1860, the majority was from England, chinese, the Irish ad Scottis population also rose over time

    Wow it is amazing that your great grandfather got to help catch Ned Kelly. I thought you could have a bit more information though. Can you please tell me what the potato famine was. I didn’t have much information on where my family migrated from so it is interesting to hear about yours.

  4. Hi Annie, I’m with Remony here. I’m fascinated by the Ned Kelly story and would like to know more about your ancestor’s involvement in the chase. I would also find it helpful if you could post some information about the Potato Famine in Ireland as this period saw a big influx to Australia from Irish immigrants.
