News reports

I really enjoyed making these news reports because It gave us a little freedom to research a topic and present it to your group. I enjoyed dressing up and filming,  we each creates our own funny character that had its own personality. I think next time I need to work on more info and using my Time more wisely. We did a lot because we edited and filmed for a few days and the over all time went for about 4-7 minutes. This was a great experience  and you should defiantly do it next year for the new year 5’s.

Angelina Jolie – hope and joy

Angelina Jolie is a shows an amazing  example of positive change in Africa. The small efforts that’s she puts in to better the lives of others in Africa, is amazing. Angelina Jolie adopted Zahara Marley from Ethiopia, Africa. She also gave birth to her daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Namibia, Africa. Both Brad and Angelina put serious time, effort, and money into causes to help Africa. Which shows that if you donate a little bit of money each year to these causes can do a lot to help out these children, which also relates back to mother Theresa who said “it’s the little things that matter”.

Mission day

Why do we hold mission day carnival?
To raise money for a catholic mission in Vietnam, which is a school for girls that needs help with school supplies so we help contributed by raising money to help out.
How do you connect the message of St Therese to mission day?
When St Theresa said its the little things that matter it makes you think about how you always have to care about every little living thing and its environment and that if you don’t take care it can lead to serious consequences.
Why, as catholic people of faith, are we responsible for actively responding to needs of others?
Because if it what us in need other people would give a helping hand and help work together to make this world better. So that’s what we do to contribute to help out other people and there living.
How does your participating in the mission day carnival demonstrate you faith?
Because it shows that we care about others and that it does not always mean that you can do it in a boring way, it shows that you can have fun in raising money for other people and it also shows that we have faith in changing the world and everyones future.
What did you enjoy most about this experience?
Planing it out and showing that we all care in our own individual ways. I love getting to choose what sort of stall we can create and being able to contribute our ideas to help out.
What would you do differently next time?
Nothing because we did an awesome this time and it was just as I expected to be, but if I was to change one more little thing then it would be to save time and use it wisely.

Big idea reflection

I think my sharing went great, everyone listened and concentrated. Me and willow worked great together and we both got an even amount of info each.
What went well was the presenting because we both talked really well and confident.
What can I improve on next time?
Maybe more info and making my workshop a bit more interesting. Like maybe a game that has to do with the information.
I used my investigation time, being honest not very well because I got distracted a little but other from that I did pretty good because I would get a piece of info and anylise it. Something interesting I learnt?A lot of people are poorer then others in these times. Chinese spent most of their money on travelling to Australia but when they reached Australia they had to spend another 10 pounds, 10 pounds back then was like $100 now.

Other people big idea
This presentation was about?
It was about Refugee and migration storys and what actually happened
the most interesting part was?
When she told us a story on an actual refugee and what happend was Him and his family were trying to come to Australia and on their first try they crashed into shore and on their second try they almost go shot by a policemen. When they got to Australia they had to get sent back to a country when they got their they had to do a test and they all past so they got to go to Australia.
What I liked about it was?
It was really cool how she had a real life story on someone and I really like the little fact about refugees.

Writing activity

The sun glistens into the clear blue ocean, I sprint into the soft hot sand. Relaxing on my beach towel, I feel a splash of cool water hit my feet, I look up to see my brother happily playing and splashing in the water, enjoying life well it’s here I decide to get up and head for the water.

A few hours later it’s time to pack up our bags, dry off and head home. The sun burns down as the moon starts setting up for his night of long hard work.

Book review

If you love exciting and thrilling  story ending books then the game of goose is the book for you. It’s about 3 young children Fred, rowley and rabbit. One afternoon Fred’s mum asks her to go down the street and get some milk. Fred, roewley and rabbit are coming home when they decide to stop at the opp shop for some toys. But when they come across a very weird looking board game with a golden goose perched on top. They start to play one by one, I’m not gonna spoil anything but never rolls 6. I love this book because it’s really exciting and thrill seeking , I love to bits because it’s the perfect book for me to read because it has so much adventuring and different twisted endings. 134 pages of hair raising, tongue tingling, face screaming, body moving on the edge of your seat PAGES. You will be on the edge of your seat waiting for the next chapter of exciting and thrilling adventures.

Text analysis

Text to text

The people who produced these 2 videos are really trying to speak up about how if it’s not happening where you are it’s does not always mean it’s not happening anywhere else . It’s terrible that little children in kindergarten to high school cant go to school because of 3rd war country’s. These videos of just examples of what is happening around the world. They both show about poverty and how it effects children and their family’s.

Text to world

people go through this struggle everyday, but people in other country’s don’t seem to relies it and they do no help to these people in need. The people who care are making a difference 1 step at a time. We’re as people who don’t care are making war, poverty, homeless people and refugees a much bigger problem.

Text to self

im glad and happy that people are trying to make a difference. It’s makes me sad and unhappy that people have to work day and night to try and help their family’s. I don’t see why certain countrys should have to go through suffering  just because they have a terrible government. I mainly feel scared and sad because this might be Australia indanger one day.
